Press Pathway guide
Earned Media vs Syndicated Media
These two outcomes are often confused because both can put a brand name on news websites. The editorial process behind them is different.
Editorial approach: We distinguish provider claims from independently observable marketplace information. Prices, package details and distribution networks can change, so verify current terms before ordering.
Earned media
A journalist, editor or creator independently decides that the story is worth covering. The resulting article may summarize, critique or add reporting beyond your release.
Syndicated media
A submitted announcement is republished through a distribution network, often with the same or very similar wording.
Why the distinction matters
Businesses should not describe syndicated copies as if every outlet independently chose to report on the company. Clear language protects credibility with customers and clients.
